TL;DR

Specialty battery systems from 4 Ah to 2000 Ah in 2 V, 12 V and 48 V formats for switchgear, telecom and substation DC supplies. These are the strings that close breakers and hold protection relays, so cycle life and DC resistance matter more than energy density.

Overview

What this platform is built to do.

The specialty battery range covers the blocks that do not fit the standard 12 V 24–250 Ah UPS family: 2 V cells from 200 to 2000 Ah, 12 V blocks from 4 to 200 Ah, and 48 V lithium modules for rack and cabinet installations.

The 2 V cells are used in large UPS, telecom, and substation banks where the string voltage is built from high-capacity cells and the runtime is measured in hours. The 12 V blocks cover small UPS and security systems. The 48 V lithium modules are used in rack cabinets and hybrid systems.

Selection depends on the string voltage, the runtime, the charger, and the room. The 2 V cells need a battery rack and a trained installer; the 48 V lithium modules need a compatible BMS and charger. Share the UPS model and the runtime target for a configuration.

FAQ

Specialty battery: project questions.

Project-specific answers. If your question is not here, send the load list and the site conditions.

Talk to an engineer

When should I use 2 V cells instead of 12 V blocks?

Use 2 V cells for large strings and long runtime, where the current per cell is high and the battery room can support a rack. 12 V blocks are simpler for small and medium systems.

Can I mix 2 V and 12 V blocks in one string?

No. A string must use the same cell type, capacity, and age. Mixing causes uneven charging and early failure.

Do the 48 V lithium modules need a special charger?

Yes. The charger must follow the lithium voltage profile and the BMS limits. A lead-acid charger is not a safe substitute.

How is the battery rack sized?

The rack is sized by the number of cells, the weight, the clearance, and the floor loading. Share the string layout for a rack recommendation.

Can you supply the battery monitor?

Yes, battery monitoring and inspection options are available for large strings. The sensor set depends on the string size and the monitoring platform.
